Our agreement also provided for early access to professional expense reimbursement applications 2020/2021 and deferral options for academics who were on research and scholarship leave (RSL) or who had planned an RSL from July. We will meet again with the faculty association in the fall to discuss further adjustments that may be needed to help academic staff cope with the pandemic. Very soon after the switch to providing distance learning during the winter semester, we worked with the Faculty Association at the University of Calgary to negotiate an agreement for an automatic one-year postponement of the academic staff application process with dates held (academic staff are not required to take the postponement if they wish to apply in the regular course). The General Faculty Council (CGP) is empowered to define the evaluation criteria and define the academic standards for the mandate, transport and renewal, and may delegate the development of faculty guidelines to the faculty councils to ensure that the specificities of different disciplines are taken into account in the application of the criteria. . . .
